Ready to Serve: How and Why You Should Recruit Veterans, an article published by the University of North Carolina, is a helpful reminder to all companies the wealth of skills war veterans bring to the civilian labor workforce.  Veterans have much-desired competencies such as leadership, teamwork, integrity, critical thinking and problem-solving. While the veteran unemployment rate is better now (7.5% for post 9/11 veterans) than at the time of the publication (13% for post 9/11 veterans), there is still room for improvement.  Case studies from AT&T, Amazon and others outline the benefits of hiring veterans.  Happy Memorial Day!
